Senate Council

Dr Jo Emmanuel

Jo qualified as a doctor in 1990 and immediately specialised in psychiatry, nearly all spent in London, becoming a consultant in adult psychiatry in 2000. Since that time she has always worked clinically in Westminster enjoying the great diversity this brings and has worked in both community and in-patient settings.

In 2017 she was appointed as Divisional Medical Director in CNWL – a combined mental health and community health trust – responsible for clinical leadership in adult services across the four London boroughs of Brent, Harrow, Kensington and Chelsea and Harrow as well as Learning Disability services. She is firmly committed to the vision articulated in the NHS Long term plan for mental health and is currently working with colleagues to integrate service delivery much more with primary care and reduce current reliance on in-patient services.

Jo joined the London Clinical Senate Council in May 2019.
